Nick Knowles and Erin Child became close friends after one of Erin’s best friends moved into an unoccupied room in Nick’s home. After a friendship of a year, the two decided to date. The relationship lasted almost three years when Nick decided it was time to propose. Nick, being the good guy that he is, asked Erin’s father for permission for his daughter’s hand in marriage.  Erin’s dad, thinking Erin knew what Nick had planned and was keeping it a secret, excitedly told his daughter what he and Nick discussed. Two months later, in April of 2015, the couple was engaged.

Being proud parents of two fur babies, Erin and Nick love to play with their two dogs, Shiner and Colabear, as well as watch football, play board games, and go on pizza dates. One of the most special memories the engaged couple had with one another before being married was getting baptized together.  Three months before their wedding date, the same pastor that would marry them baptized Erin and Nick.  They believed that individually, they needed to dedicate their lives to Jesus before they could make a commitment, like marriage, to one another.

The brisk morning of Saturday, February 13th of 2016 had finally come. Erin, her seven bridesmaids, and junior bridesmaid began to prepare themselves for Erin and Nick’s wedding day.  Nick, with his six closest friends, as his groomsmen got dressed and waited for the ceremony to start.  Blush, gold, and various other neutral colors set the scene for a classic and romantic evening. With the wedding ceremony at The Grove, 150 of Erin and Nick’s nearest and dearest friends and family sat in anticipation for the evening to begin. The parents were escorted down the aisle signaling the commencement of the service. Erin, walking hand in hand with her father, stepped up to the pastor as Nick shed a few tears of joy. A unique part of the ceremony included the bride and groom intertwining three pieces of rope on a plaque which read a Bible verse from Ecclesiastes 4:12 “ Though one may be overpowered,  two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.”  The service ended with the new Mr. and Mrs. Knowles sealing the marriage with a kiss.

After the ceremony, cocktail hour began at The Lake View site. Guests were encouraged to play yard games such as a round of corn-hole and outdoor Jenga while sipping on hot chocolate. Family and friends made their way to The Great Hall for the reception. After speeches had finished and dinner served, the newly married couple danced the night away with their visitors. After hours of dancing and fun, the bride and groom walked through their tunnel of sparklers to a vintage getaway car to draw a close to one of the happiest days of their lives.
