Chicago couple Megan and Kyle met at Marquette back in 2004. Megan is a year older than Kyle is, so she was in a class above him. Despite going to the same school, they never really connected until they met again eight years later. After their first date, they both knew it was something special.Three years down the road, Kyle and Megan were out to dinner celebrating Kyle’s last final in Law school at the same restaurant where the two had had their first date on an ordinary Monday. Once they had finished dinner, Megan walked into their apartment and was greeted by flowers, candles, and a ring box. Megan was very surprised and shocked.

Being from the Chicagoland area, it is only fitting that the couple loves to spend their time watching Chicago sports, especially the Blackhawks. Megan is a neurological physical therapist in a day rehab, and Kyle is a paramedic for the Chicago fire department, who is also a practicing lawyer. In the couple’s spare time, they enjoy traveling, which is how they chose Texas as their wedding destination! After exploring Austin and falling in love with the music scene, it’s fun food, and eclectic charm, they knew they had to have a destination wedding.

Knowing that the newly engaged couple wanted an outdoor ceremony, they chose to host their wedding at Ma Maison on February 25th (because Austin February weather is VERY different from Chicago February weather). Wanting a boho vintage style, blush pink, gray, and gold was chosen for the wedding colors.

After being engaged a little over a year, 200 family and friends traveled down from the Windy City to the city that keeps it weird. The Grove was the chosen ceremony site with ten groomsmen and eight bridesmaids accompanying Megan and Kyle at the altar.

To incorporate southern charm into their cocktail hour, Megan and Kyle chose mini chicken and waffles as well as mini tacos. Guests were ushered into the Great Hall for the reception where a party ensued after a delicious buffet dinner. The most important thing to the couple was that their dance floor would be filled with their friends and family showing off their cheesy dance moves.

The night ended with a sparkler exit by the couple who left immediately to their honeymoon in New Zealand! They rented a car and drove up the southern islands to adventure which included a three-day camping trek, kayaking, and plenty of hiking.
