Lauren and Sara met through mutual friends while living in the DFW area. As the relationship grew, the two knew marriage could be in their future. During July of 2015, the couple were in Vancouver to watch the final game of the 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup. Lauren and Sara decided to stay the night and enjoy Whistler. After a romantic dinner, Sara proposed to Lauren and she, of course, said “YES!”
When the couple wasn’t busy wedding planning, they were at work. Both Sara and Lauren are police officers for Austin area agencies. When they aren’t protecting this fine city, they enjoyed spending time with their three dogs and cat.
While planning, the couple decided they wanted a French country style. Ma Maison’s French inspiration was perfect! Blue was the primary wedding color, which was reflected throughout the wedding décor.
After almost a year and a half engagement, the wedding day was upon Sara and Lauren on October 7th. The ladies arrived at Ma Maison early in the day for hair and makeup. The vendors all arrived and set up the Grove ceremony site for Lauren and Sara’s 150-person guest count. The bridesmaids were sporting blue short chiffon dresses while the bridesmen were wearing gray suits with blue ties.
The Trellis was set for cocktail hour for guests. A sign with the new Mrs. and Mrs.’s hashtag (#soimarriedacop) was out to let guests know what hashtag to use when tagging photos. While guests were at cocktail hour, Sara and Lauren had a table set for two in the bridal suite for some private dining.
As guests were finishing up on the Trellis, they headed into the Great Hall for the reception. Friends and family were greeted with a large monogram on the wall, which featured Ma Maison’s tree with their names underneath. The head table had place cards that also had the Ma Maison tree printed in blue.
After dinner, the dance floor opened up for dancing. For a late night wedding favor, guests were sent off with a bag of donuts! The new Mrs. and Mrs. walked under their sparkler tunnel to their getaway car.
For a minimoon after the wedding, Sara and Lauren spent a few days in Snowmass, Colorado to get away. Later this year, the two will be heading over to Europe for their main honeymoon to site see and enjoy some new foods!
