Working at the same pool as lifeguards for two years, Holly and Ben finally took the time to get to know one another. The two began dating at the end of their senior year of high school despite attending rival high schools. While it was Holly’s dream to attend Texas A&M for college, it was not exactly Ben’s. However, that is the college Ben ended up attending and is now the biggest Aggie fan. The two dated all throughout college. Being two of the biggest Aggie football fans, Ben told Holly that they were going on a private tour of Kyle Field on October 9th of 2015. The cover story was that the couple was going to take a couple of photos for a friend for his Christmas present for the friend’s grandparents. When Holly and Ben were on the field by themselves, Ben’s friend took a picture of the pair in front of the “Welcome to Aggieland” sign. Ben went over to check the positioning of the photo; he pulled the ring out of his friend’s backpack and got down on one knee. Holly was so surprised and excited that it was not until hours later that she and her new fiancé realized she forgot to say “Yes.”

Ben and Holly’s two best friends got married a month earlier. Holly was a bridesmaid and was the one who caught the bouquet. Little did Holly know that Ben was already planning to propose. Three months later, the two were engaged. The tradition of catching the bridal bouquet does work!

Both Holly and Ben are 23 years old. Ben is a civil engineer, and Holly is an accountant. While dating, the two enjoyed being outdoors, playing frisbee golf, and trying out new restaurants. The couple has been to Peru together and is looking forward to making lots of travel plans after they are married and working full time.

With a guest count of 275 arriving at Ma Maison, the wedding day was here. On Friday, June 10th of 2016, guests were seated at The Green Cathedral for the soon to be married couple’s ceremony. After nine groomsmen, eight bridesmaids, and two adorable flower girls had made their way down the aisle, Holly walked to her emotional groom. The two said their vows to each other and walked backed down the aisle as the new Mr. and Mrs. Ben Plett.

Keeping gorgeous flowers in mind, the décor included white florals with touches of gray, navy, and rustic elegance mixed in with mercury votives. Following dinner, the party started once the LED foam cheer sticks were handed out on the dance floor. Newly married, the night finished with a sparkler exit and the couple was whisked away in their getaway car. Immediately following the wedding, Holly and Ben headed towards Antigua to soak up some sun!
