Giving a wedding toast is always a huge honor, regardless of whether you are a special guest, or part of the newlywed couple itself. At the same time, a toast is a big moment in the wedding timeline – so it’s only natural that you want everything to be flawless about it.
How to write the perfect wedding toast, though? Here are some tips to keep in mind:
Be thankful. Show everyone just how grateful you are for having given the opportunity to give a toast – but, even more importantly, show everyone how grateful you are to be part of the couple’s love story.
· Share a story or a joke. If you have known the couple for a long time, you definitely have plenty of great stories about them. For example, you could talk about how much they have changed for the best since they first met each other. Or, you could tell the story of how the two met, or how you met the bride or the groom. As long as it’s a cute story, or a romantic one, it will be more than perfect.
· At the same time, be sure to not talk about anything embarrassing. Certain things are to remain between close friends and/or family – and not be shared with a large group of guests in any way. Be sure you don’t talk about anything that might embarrass the couple in any way (and this includes stories about Exes too!).
· Last, but definitely not least, keep your wedding toast as short and as sweet as possible. You want people to really enjoy this moment – and you definitely don’t want them to get bored. Keep your toast short and sweet and everyone will be more than happy with it.
