After Amy had mistaken Rick as a new student her senior year of high school in their P.A.L.S. class, the two became friends. As their friendship grew, the two’s best friends brought to their attention how close Amy and Rick had become. They decided to try dating and turned into high school sweethearts.

On May 9, 2015, Richard asked friends and family to take Amy on a walk down memory lane all over Austin. The last stop of the tour was Zilker Park where Rick popped the question.

One of Amy and Rick’s favorite shared memory was when they became parents to a little fur puppy named Sophie. The couple frequently volunteered at Austin Pets Alive and decided to foster a dog. The puppy was tiny and weighed about a pound. Once they nurtured her back to health, Amy and Rick agreed to adopt Sophie and became dog parents.  Some of their favorite pastimes while dating included being outdoors, playing sports and spending time with friends, family, and Sophie.

Using “French Country” as the inspiration for their wedding day, Amy chose blush as her primary color with hints of gold and champagne. The bride-to-be envisioned an elegant European tea party with a touch of whimsy. On the wedding day, Amy wore a blush strapless ruched wedding gown as her bridesmaids wore chiffon champagne long dresses. The boys were dressed in English blue suits.

The couple planned to marry at The Grove outdoor ceremony site, but due to rain, was moved to the Plan B site. The wedding ceremony took place under the Trellis with 125 guests sharing this special day with the bride and groom.  Rain did not dampen the newly married couple’s spirits. The party continued till Mr. and Mrs. High took their sparkling exit, signifying the end of a magical day.
